CSA Retiree Chapter Update - April 6, 2015

Retirees and Retroactive Payments

We have received many calls with questions regarding the timetable of retroactive payments that many of you will receive because of the new contract CSA signed with the city.

The DOE has notified us that:

September 2014 will be paid on June 18, 2015 with a special supplementary payroll.

This bonus is only for those who left service between Dec. 31, 2014
and March 3, 2015 and who did not already receive the bonus.

C. The lump sum retro payment will be paid on Sept. 30, 2015.

D. Excessed Supervisor severance will be paid on April 16, 2015.

Outreach Workshop – April 14, 2015

We’ll provide information about Access-A-Ride and the services provided through the NYC Department for the Aging.

Access-A-Ride provides a host of services for those who have disabilities or difficulties navigating the subways and buses. Access-A-Ride is a service provided under the auspices of the Americans with
Disabilities Act and is based on need not age.

A Deputy Commissioner for the NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA) will be our special presenter. DFTA offers a broad range of services for older adults and support for their families.

Please call the Retiree Chapter at (212) 823-2020 or contact Alana Segura, Asegura@csa-nyc.org or Miata Jones, Miata@csa-nyc.org.

The workshop will be held at CSA, 40 Rector St., 12th Floor, in Founder’s Hall. Light refreshments will be served at 9 a.m. and the workshop starts promptly at 9:30 a.m.

The Retiree Chapter’s 10th Anniversary

We still have room at our 10th anniversary celebration of the merger between RSSA and CSA. We have planned an elegant party and we hope you will join us on Sunday, May 17, in the Delegates Dining Room at the United Nations.

The program starts at 10 a.m. with private tours of the United Nations. A cocktail hour follows. We’re then providing a festive and generous brunch buffet (with carving stations) to ensure your dining pleasure! Download an invitation and RSVP form HERE, and please RSVP by April 13.

Please note: All guests will be screened by U.N. security. Please remember to bring government-issued photo identification or you will not be permitted to enter the building, no exceptions. The United Nations is located on First Avenue between East 45th and 46th streets in Manhattan.
